Founded in 1071, the world’s first Richmond is the proud cultural capital of the Yorkshire Dales. Explore its landmark castle independent shops, art galleries, restaurants and cafes, all set around the ancient cobbles of the market square. Take in a show at the beautifully restored Georgian Theatre. Or wander down to the picturesque River Swale and waterfalls at the foot of the town. All in all, a genuinely memorable destination.
