Welcome to Overdale Cottage
CONTEMPORARY COMFORT | RICH HISTORY | STUNNING SCENERY
In the heart of breathtaking Swaledale in the North Yorkshire Dales National Park lies the picturesque hamlet of Marrick – home to Overdale Cottage.
Built around 1750 in the reign of King George II, this charming two-bedroom former lead miner’s cottage offers up to four guests the perfect blend of history, stunning scenery and contemporary comfort.
An inspirational rural retreat
Adjacent to Overdale House (home and working studio of international award-winning Artist Martin Lever) the cottage’s original 18th Century rustic features have been sympathetically enhanced with beautiful furnishings, bespoke original artwork and historical embellishments that echo the cottage’s mining heritage. Combined with a stylish and sympathetic colour palette, Overdale Cottage is a unique rustic retreat designed to deliver all manner of timeless pleasures.
The perfect place to explore the Yorkshire Dales
Located on the route of the National Trail Coast-to-Coast walk, Overdale Cottage and its hand-crafted sundial (the inspiration behind our iconic brand identity) has been immortalised in Wainwright’s famous book (see Page 99).
